Select Start reimagines the culture of the arcade as an adult nightlife experience, trading overt gaming nostalgia for a world built around exploration, discovery, and escapism. Set inside a historic warehouse in Winnipeg’s Exchange District, the sprawling space unfolds through a series of distinct environments anchored by a glowing central bar. Retro-futurism, Japanese nightlife, early-’80s excess, and the imagined futures of science fiction shape a visual language that feels cohesive without ever becoming predictable, with arcade cabinets woven throughout rather than defining the room. Custom furniture, millwork, lighting, and installations—including 123 choreographed chrome spheres suspended above the bar—carry that world through every detail. The result is strange, glamorous, transportive, and unapologetically faithful to its source material: a place designed to be wandered through, looked closer at, and discovered one piece at a time.

Dr. Walter Gibbs: [laughs] You've got to expect some static. After all, computers are just machines; they can't think.

Alan Bradley: Some programs will be thinking soon.

Dr. Walter Gibbs: Won't that be grand? Computers and the programs will start thinking and the people will stop.

― Tron, 1982
